Face Oil - Standard Size

When you wash your face you are removing the natural oils or “sebum”. This is a thin, slightly acidic film on the surface that acts as a barrier to microbes that might penetrate the skin. Sebum is odorless, but its breakdown by bacteria can produce strong odours. 

Our face oil is formulated with jojoba wax and fractionated coconut oil. This combination is designed to be similar to the natural composition of sebum. In this way you replenish your natural skin protection quickly after washing. We have added orange blossom, petitgrain, frankincense and lavender essential oils for their combined anti bacterial actions and, quite frankly, because they smell gorgeous.

The ingredients are:

Jojoba

Jojoba oil (actually, it is technically a wax combination) moisturises all skin types and is particularly useful for nourishing dry and mature skin. When used on the face and body, jojoba helps to gently unclog pores and cleanse the skin, leaving it feeling rejuvenated and revived.

Fractionated Coconut oil

This is pure coconut oil with the solids removed so it does not solidify at room temperature. The combination of Jojoba and Coconut is as close to the actual composition of your skins natural sebum.

Orange Blossom

Otherwise known as Neroli and named after the Princess of Neroli (who used it as a perfume). This is extracted from the flowers of the bitter orange. In skin care it is widely used in the treatment of scars and wrinkles and is particularly favourable for mature skin. Together with Petitgrain it forms the basis of the original Eau de Cologne.

Frankincense

The long lasting and deeply affecting aroma of Frankincense is gorgeously intoxicating and strangely Eastern in a way that is hard to pin down. But we add it here because it is powerfully anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. It also smells divine - literally.

Petitgrain

Is one of the classic ingredients of Eau-de-cologne, and adds a woody, herbaceous undertone to the blend. Petitgrain is particularly beneficial for the skin care of damaged skin.

Lavender

When used as a minor note it totally balances and enhances the power of the other ingredients.

Apply 3 drops to the face immediately after washing. Use clean fingers or a cotton wool ball or pad to apply. The oil will quickly be absorbed leaving a non-greasy feel and a fantastically refreshing aroma.
