We call it "FOR HIM"
But it's really for her
Ever wondered what a Viking warrior smelled like? or perhaps a Visigoth or a member of some other long past war-like tribe from ancient history?
I don't mean what they smelled like in battle - that was probably pretty grim. I am asking what they smelled like after they had given themselves a good wash and brush up afterwards. After a long hot bath and settled down in front of the fire in their pyjamas and slippers.
Well it is possible they smelled a bit like this. It was traditional for warriors to soak in hot water infused with the bark, leaves and wood from conifers amongst other things. This Blend has two of the most resonant of all coniferous trees - Cedar and Spruce. Cedar is something of an aphrodisiac of the lumberjack kind. Though the oils we use in this blend are not of the Canadian variety (Western Red Cedar). Rather we use Himalayan Cedar which is a bit more refined and sensual. Few things state Masculine quite as profoundly as Cedarwood. This long lasting fragrance is also widely used as a base note in expensive aftershaves for good reason.
A little know fact about Spruce is that it is very very rich in vitamin C. A fact that is useful to know if you are ever stranded 500 miles from civilisation and are on a diet that is deficient in vitamins. Captain James Cook made alcoholic sugar-based spruce beer during his sea voyages in order to prevent scurvy in his crew.
But I digress. Back to the description of our oil. We have added some other ingredients that add to the overall lushness. Firstly we added Patchouli.
Patchouli is a versatile and gorgeous scent used widely in the Far East. It adds a sweet, rich, herbaceous-earthy odour to the mix. For too many years Patchouli has been the punchline of a joke of the hippy kind. Rather like flower children gone to seed. However, in the enlightened 21st century that joke is no more. Patchouli is up and coming again. Increasingly, people are recognising how gorgeous it is and is an oil that blends magnificently with the cedarwood.
The sharp spike of Mandarin is added to give an immediate hit in the olfactory regions. In short it is the top note and it breaks on through to the other side of masculinity. Together these oils combine to help focus all immediate attention on Him and I am guessing that suits a Viking warrior just fine.
